Word, Justin!

I have a friend who's been a citizen for 10 years. She has NEVER voted. She's from Russia, where voting never mattered, and she has carried on that sad resignation here.

This year, SHE IS GOING TO VOTE! She is actually going to register and cast her ballot.

THAT is a GREAT thing -- and the biggest individual example of political activism. Get the vote out -- what we say here is all meaningless, unless we can get that vote in, and the votes of others.

Ach, no. Please don't vote.

It only encourages them.

George Carlin said he never votes, because it doesn't affect him either way. I get what he means on a higher level. I still do what I do either way. After Clinton, I realized Dems. are no different then Repubs. Both lie, steal, and cheat to get what they want. Will I vote? Yes, I still feel that I must, especially this time. I would vote for anything besides Bush. BTW, I love axisofeve.org! What a great creative protest.

I'm not sure if I'd be excited about something shaping up to be like Chicago '68. That was a pretty harsh moment that happened to lead up to the election of Richard Nixon.

I was at the Republican convention in Houston in 1992, and saw frightening cops on horses, as they beat old men AIDS protesters with wooden sticks. I can still remember the weird whooping bark of an old fat man as he was struck.

Sure there were great moments of hilarity and protest hijinks. But in general the whole thing was dark. And I'm sure Chicago 1968 was even darker.

But I get your drift, and hope that many people vote.
