  | I've been doing some thinking about my final project for CTCS505 -
For the last year or so, I've been traveling with a video camera, recording game culture and interviewing people about video games. I've never really done anything with the materials collected. For my final project, I'd like to make a short narrative documentary using this footage, and some additional footage I'll shoot this semester.
I'm thinking the video will be a sort of narrative, a personal exploration of the ethics of simulation and stimulation. My motivations for participating in media. I'll definitely be drawing on the Manovich reading, and other stuff as it comes up throughout the semester.
If you agree that this sounds appropriate, I'll continue iterating my theme, mostly by reviewing my footage and starting to build a sort of narrative. In other words, this email describes a rough outline of something I'll pull together over the next few months. As you said, the difference between a paper and a project is lead time!
