Sierra
If you played computer games in the 80s, Sierra On-Line was unavoidable. Their adventure games, single characters wandering over lush low res game screens, these character-driven puzzles were challenging, and most often humourous.
Most people easily recall Leisure Suit Larry, one of the first adult themed games. It was certainly a hit when I played it during Ms. Smith's typing class in 8th grade.
