You're very ambivalent about grad school. When you decided to be a freelance writer and go to Japan you acted fairly quickly as I recall. It was something you wanted to do and you resolved all of the road blocks to accomplish it. You seemed to know in your heart it was the right path for you then. There was a passion there. Maybe you need to figure out why you thnk you want to go to grad school.
