Paul - excellent comment, thank you. I was attracted to "the will to power" in my teen years, when I was groping for some control over the world. Now that I feel more ability and calm, I tend more towards compassion, in part because I've seen the sad side-effects of the will to power - large imaginations have writ large problems upon the world. Perhaps that is a pessimistic view of progress. I believe people with a great will to power are challenged to listen. I admire the strength that comes from meeting that challenge.

Government is too big and too important to be left to the politicians.
